What and Why !

Bra- An over-hyped garment and yet a taboo!

I have come across many women who find themselves adjusting their straps, getting hold of their bra band and fixing the elastic or just fidgeting and complaining because something just isn't right- in public yet as inconspicuous as possible.

This is not new that a woman has to wear a bra, and when I bought my first bra, I knew as much about it as I knew about planes, which is true for a lot of people I know!

My first few years of wearing a bra, I was completely clueless! Just went to the stores and bought whatever they suggested. I realized there has to be a better way to do this and so I started my own research, came across many articles and went to different brands to try their products. And soon found myself beating my ignorance.

My first bra experience: My mother bought me a white cotton bra without my acknowledgement so of course my size never came into consideration.I had to wear that bra without questions or discussions on which rock is puberty and how bad does it hurt when it hits. Had it not been for the subsequent years of reading the reproduction chapter- the extent of sex ed in India. Many teenagers who are not open to discussing Bras with their parents or sisters often live in confusion as I did and I would like to help them be a little less confused.

I had been working on this project for the past year but hadn't been able to get it to its fruition. Now the pandemic has given me an opportunity to sit with myself and finally work.

I have been with the fashion industry for the past 5 years after college and have actively participated in learning the global fashion trends.  My interest in lingerie was at peak after joining a renowned Lingerie brand in India and working with them provided me with good experience and resources.

With this blog I want to reach out to all women of all ages and help them understand bras to get their best fit. There are so many problems associated with being a woman in this world- i want to help remove “not wearing the right bra” from those list of problems!
